Frequently Asked Questions

Is this trial free?

Yes, it is free until February 1, 2025. At that time, your account will be transitioned to the Freemium version. ENow is grateful for all we've learned through the IT and Microsoft community over the years, and we're glad to be able to pay it forward with resources that help out our fellow IT Pros! We believe that we're in this and stronger together.

What does the free trial upgrade to Standard Edition include?

Since our Freemium trial does not include detailed information about applications affected by this Microsoft update, ENow created a special offer to make the Standard Edition of our paid tool free until the deadline of February 1, 2025, to help organizations manage this change. The upgraded trial of App Governance Accelerator provides detailed reports to inventory applications using the Azure AD Graph API, helping you prepare and minimize broken apps and business interruption.

What Permissions Are Required?
  • To get your AppGov report, somebody with Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) will need to consent.
  • The application will require the following read-only permissions:

    Permission Name Description
    Directory.Read.All Read directory data.
EntitlementManagement.Read.All Read all entitlement management resources.
    Policy.Read.All Read your organization's policies.
Policy.Read.PermissionGrant Read consent and permission grant policies.
    RoleManagement.Read.All RoleManagement.Read.All

How long does it take to set up?
  • There are a few steps to consent and configure the application to ensure we're following the same recommended standards that we suggest to others.
  • For organizations with under 2,000 apps, it shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes. For larger organizations, it can take up to an hour.
  • We suggest bookmarking the page and returning to it in about 20 minutes. This is recommended if the email address you signed up with is not mail-enabled.
What is Azure AD Graph API?
Azure AD Graph API provides programmatic access to Azure AD resources. It’s being replaced by the more comprehensive Microsoft Graph API.
When will Azure AD Graph API stop working?

Applications using Azure AD Graph API will stop functioning starting February 1, 2025 unless you request an extension. All use of the Azure AD Graph API will retire completely on June 30, 2025.

What happens to third-party applications?

Third-party apps relying on Azure AD Graph API must be updated by their vendors to use Microsoft Graph API. You should contact any Developers/Vendors if their applications are using the legacy API. If they don't take action or request an extension, their application will be affected starting February 1st, 2025.

Managing the volume of Entra ID Apps is very challenging. The native Microsoft tools do not make it easy to understand how big the problem is in a tenant. Misconfigured and overprivileged apps are a huge problem and are now being exploited by adversaries. It's awesome ENow has tackled this problem head on.
